For eight and a half months of this year, the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex in the Stavropol Territory increased their exports of finished products by 50 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Regional Committee for Food and Processing Industry, Trade and Licensing.
“The key sectors that influenced the growth of regional exports were mainly meat and finished food products. Speaking in numbers, meat products increased by 68 percent, finished food products almost doubled, and other agro-industrial products. At the same time, taxes imposed on oil and fat products. affected and reduced its exports by 23 percent. However, this did not affect the cost result: one and a half times higher than last year,” said Denis Polyubin, chairman of the relevant committee.
To date, Saudi Arabia has become the largest importer of Stavropol processed products, China has bought poultry meat and unsweetened water. The committee added that the United Arab Emirates imports chicken, sunflower oil, vegetables and dried beans.
They noted the opening of new directions for export deliveries in 2022: Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon – purchasing poultry meat and vegetable oil. With the support of Governor Vladimir Vladimirov, new logistics chains were built to expand the export potential of the Stavropol Territory. Thanks to this, regional producers dominate the market of African countries: Mozambique, Kenya, Angola, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea. These countries also import poultry meat and oil and fat products.
“Poultry meat and sunflower oil are popular in all export aspects. Therefore, our producers increase their production volumes, meeting not only domestic needs but also the demands of partner countries,” said Polyubin.
