Chisinau may ask Pridnestrovie for advance payment for gas supply from Romania
KISINAU, September 26 – RIA Novosti. Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu said on television on Monday that if Gazprom stopped gas supplies to Moldova in October, Chisinau would buy from Romania, in which case Pridnestrovie would have to make an advance payment.
Supervision of the Moldovagaz venture was a prerequisite when Chisinau signed a new agreement with Gazprom last October. Only in August, the Moldovan government, the Norwegian company Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma and the British Forensic Risk Alliance & Co. signed an audit agreement with If the government fails to complete the inspection before 1 October, Gazprom may stop gas supplies to Moldova.
“We have about 35 million cubic meters of natural gas reserves. If Gazprom stops gas supply, we will use our reserve for the first time. Some of it is in Romania, some in Moldova. Iasi-Chisinau gas pipeline. “In this case, Pridnestrovie is located in the rest of Moldova will have to buy prepaid gas at market price, as he did. We will meet with Tiraspol. Systems of Moldovagaz and state-owned company Energocom,” he said. Spynu is on the air on PRO TV.
Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister stated that gas reserves could last for two months. In the future, the authorities will act according to scenarios “developed for various situations”.
The contract between Gazprom and Moldovagaz provides two formulas for calculating gas prices. From April to September, the cost consists of 70% of the monthly average gas price for the previous month (TTF front month) and 30% of the price of the oil basket. From October to March – 70% of the cost falls on the oil basket and 30% – on the average gas price.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti that Moscow hopes Moldova will fully and timely fulfill its obligations under the gas contract. He stressed that the Russian side fully fulfilled its obligations under the contract with Chisinau, and that, in general, the gas supply to Moldova was “on a purely commercial plane”.
