Gazprom resumes gas supplies to China through Power of Siberia after scheduled repairs
MOSCOW, September 30 – RIA Novosti. The planned maintenance work on the Power of Siberia gas pipeline has been completed, gas transportation to China via the mainline has been resumed, knowledgeable Gazprom.
In the message on the official channel of the company in the Telegram messenger, it is said, “Planned maintenance work of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline has been completed. Gas transportation has resumed today as planned.”
Gas transport through the Power of Siberia has been suspended due to technical work scheduled for September 22-29. According to an agreement between Gazprom and the Chinese company CNPC, preventive maintenance of gas pipeline equipment and systems is carried out twice a year: in spring and autumn.
Power of Siberia is a main gas pipeline from Russia to China with a length of approximately 3,000 kilometers. It now carries gas from the Chayandinskoye field, which is the base of the Yakutsk gas production center, to Russian consumers in the Far East and China. At the end of 2022, gas supply to the Power of Siberia will start from another area – Kovykta, on the basis of which the Irkutsk gas production center was created.
