European Commissioner: EC considers it possible to set a price cap for all Russian gas
BRUSSELS, September 30 – RIA Novosti. In his speech before an extraordinary EU council of energy ministers, European Commission (EC) Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson said the European Commission (EC) is committed to limiting prices for all gas from Russia and negotiating price corridors with suppliers that the EU can “negotiate” with. He said he was in favor of doing it.
“We must propose a price cap for all Russian gas, both pipeline and LNG, and negotiate price corridors with partners we can negotiate with. The European Commission is also ready to develop a European-level ceiling price for natural gas used to generate electricity.” But we must not forget that the result will not be an increase in gas demand.”
