Gazprom announced plans to build three new gas filling plants in Sochi.

MOSCOW, November 18 – RIA Novosti. The company said Gazprom plans to expand its gas filling infrastructure in Sochi by building three new gas filling plants.

He also clarifies the implementation of the program during the last meeting of the Chairman of the Board of Gazprom, Viktor Zubkov, with the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, and the head of the Sochi urban district, Alexei Kopaygorodsky. The development and gasification of the gas supply of the Krasnodar Territory for 2021-2025 was discussed. In 2020, Gazprom and the government of the Krasnodar Territory signed a program for the development of gas supply and gasification of the region for 2021-2025.

“It is important to understand that today the conversion of transport to methane is an investment in the future of our country’s regions. Gas reserves in Russia make it possible to provide public transport, taxis, private and municipal equipment in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation with economical and environmentally friendly fuel in the long run. Krasnodar Its region ranks fourth in Russia in terms of the development of the gas engine fuel market. The prospects for further development are especially in Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Adler, ” said Zubkov, whose words were quoted in the statement.

According to the report, by 2023, the Sochi city district plans to increase the number of natural gas-powered buses almost fivefold, to 500 units. In turn, Gazprom is ready to build three more CNG filling stations (automobile gas filling compressor stations) here. Now there are two Gazprom plants operating in the city area – a gas station in the village of Lazarevskoye and a mobile tanker at a specially equipped site in the center of Sochi. The main consumers of NGV fuel are buses and taxis.
