The State Duma passed a law extending the freezing of the funded part of pensions for one year.
MOSCOW, November 23 – RIA Novosti. At its plenary session on Tuesday, the State Duma passed a law extending the freezing of the funded part of pensions for one year, until 2025.
“The bill introduces a similar approach in 2025 to 2014-2024 for accounting for insurance premiums for compulsory pension insurance,” says the document’s explanatory note.
The financial and economic rationale states that the implementation of the bill will lead to a reduction of 925.9 billion rubles in the transfer from the federal budget to the PFR budget.
Funded pension has been frozen since 2014. This means that deductions in the amount of 6% of the salary are sent to the insurance part, that is, it goes to payments to current pensioners. Previously, citizens could independently decide whether to send money to create savings or transfer it to the insurance department, thereby increasing the points for calculating the size of the pension.
