Sberbank gets permission to open office in Mumbai, India in 2023
MOSCOW, November 23 – RIA Novosti. Alexander Vedyakhin, the bank’s first vice chairman of the board, said that Sberbank has received permission from the Indian regulator to open a second office in the country – in the city of Mumbai, which it plans to open in 2023.
“Yes, we have received permission from the regulator to open an office in Mumbai and we plan to open it in 2023,” he told reporters on the sidelines of Sberbank’s AI Journey international conference.
Today, the bank has a branch in New Delhi that has been operating since 2010. The Indian “girl” was recapitalized last year and now her net worth has reached $100 million.
Anatoly Popov, vice chairman of the bank’s board of directors, said in September that Sberbank intends to open an office in Mumbai, India by 2023, and sent a corresponding request to the local regulator for this.
