Rosstat: coal production increased by 0.8 percent year-on-year in October
MOSCOW, November 23 – RIA Novosti. Coal production in Russia in October increased by 0.8% yoy to 39.6 million tons, decreased by 1.3% in ten months to 352 million tons, knowledgeable rosstat.
“In October 2022, 39.6 million tons of coal of all grades were mined, which is 0.8% more than October 2021 and 11.3% more than September 2022,” the ministry said in a statement.
It also shows that 352 million tons of coal of all grades were mined in the ten months of 2022, which is 1.3% less than in January-October 2021.
Specifically, in October 2022 the production of all types of hard coal (including anthracite, coking coal and other hard coal) amounted to 29.9 million tons, which is 6.7% less than in October 2021, but by September 2022 8% more than . In just ten months of 2022, 282 million tons were mined, which is 5.5% less than in January-October 2021.
Anthracite production totaled 2 million tons, 10.6% less than October 2021, but 10.9% more than September 2022. Ten-month anthracite production in 2022 decreased by 1.4% compared to January-October 2021 and amounted to 20.6 million tons.
While coking coal production decreased by 8.2% compared to October 2021, it increased by 3.4% compared to September of 2022 and amounted to 9.0 million tons. In general, coking coal production in the ten months of 2022 increased by 4.7% compared to the same period of 2021 to 84.3 million tons.
