Kommersant: Gazprom can ship third party LNG from Portovaya plant to Greece

MOSCOW, November 24 – RIA Novosti. According to the newspaper, “Gazprom” can ship third party liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its own production “Portovaya”, the cargo can be sent to Greece to the receiving terminal on Revitus island.business manwith reference to sources.

Gazprom found a market for its liquefied gas from the Portovaya project in the Baltic – it became Greece. According to Kommersant, the third cargo from this facility may be sent to Revitus’ receiving terminal in Greece in the near future.

Cargo “LNG Port” and tankers “Pskov” and “Veliky Novgorod” were unloaded there on October 3 and November 16, respectively, the publication cites data from the analytical company Kpler. It is unknown who the buyer is, “but it may be one of the European traders selling this gas on the exchange.”

The newspaper also adds that Greece continues to buy pipeline gas from Gazprom, but Bulgaria refuses to supply gas from Russia, which is currently mainly supplied from Greece.

The publication also notes that another cargo from Portovaya was shipped to Kaliningrad by the Marshal Vasilevsky regasification vessel on November 21, whereas cheaper pipeline gas is usually supplied to this region via Lithuania.

The terminal used to buy LNG in Kaliningrad is required for insurance in case the transit ends. Gazprom told the publication that LNG supplies to Kaliningrad are needed to “test the system”.
