The Russian-Belarusian company “Nizhekotrans” will work at its production facilities in the city of Vorsma, Pavlovsky District. By 2024, it is planned to produce 176 cars for Nizhny Novgorod, 26 of which are three-section.

As Albert Karimov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation noted, this is one of the important and important examples of the practical establishment of cooperation. “At the moment, several such important integration projects are being implemented, and the “MiNiN” project will make a significant contribution to the development of cooperation between Russia and Belarus. It is important that this project creates additional competences in the territory of Nizhny Novgorod. The Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region emphasized that it will not be possible to start a new production without launching a federal project for the integrated development of urban electric transport. “Here we receive up to 170 units of equipment only to Nizhny Novgorod with the replacement of railway facilities, as a result of which a completely new tram system will be created,” said Nikitin.

The trains will be used in Nizhny Novgorod as they improve the city’s electrified transport infrastructure. The head of the region noted that the appearance and interiors of the new trams are designed specifically for Nizhny Novgorod. The trams will be suitable for the elderly, mothers with strollers and the disabled.
