Deputy Chepa: There is no need to create a “shadow fleet”, most of them already want to buy oil from Russia
MOSCOW, December 3 – RIA Novosti. Commenting on the publications in the media, Alexei Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations, told RIA Novosti that Russia does not need to create a “shadow fleet”, many countries already want to buy Russian oil.
The Financial Times wrote that Russia allegedly built a fleet of 100 tankers to lessen the impact of international restrictions on Russian oil.
“Obviously, Russia does not even need to create such a shadow fleet, because a large number of companies and a large number of countries want to buy our Russian oil in response to the decision of the seven countries (Big Seven countries – ed.). “Put a ceiling on Russian oil,” said the deputy.
“Many oil producing countries have been under and under sanctions for a long time, which is not a big problem today,” Chepa said.
According to the parliamentarian, such a policy would only lead to an energy crisis.
“This reckless policy is leading to one thing, on the one hand, an energy crisis, on the one hand, rising energy prices, and on the other hand, incredible profits for some companies, including American companies whose sanctions are killing Europe and making a lot of money.” added.
