Study: Russians are almost 13 times more likely to use online delivery in a year

“Statistics of the bank’s purchasing network showed that the total number of online orders with delivery in January-October 2022 increased almost 13 times compared to the same period last year,” the bank’s analysts said after analyzing the data of purchasing networks. All purchases in the “courier” category to cards of all banks between January-October 2022 and for the same period of 2021.
At the same time, the amount of orders increased by half: the average total check for such payments for the examined period of the current year was 2,625 rubles, and a year ago – 5,310 rubles. The peak in the number of payments fell in April, when there were active spring sales. Analysts said the largest average check “along with its global purchases for the new academic year” was in September, at 3,321 rubles.
There is also an increasing demand for offline courier delivery orders when purchasing goods from a store. Analysts noted that the demand for such courier services is especially high when buying electronics, household appliances, furniture, building materials. “Offline, the total number of such payments for the year has also increased – almost 4x compared to ten months of 2021,” the study says.
At the same time, unlike online orders, the average check for offline orders slightly increased compared to the previous year: from 2,112 rubles in 2021 to 2,694 rubles in 2022. The largest number of such payments for 10 months of this year fell in October. September also became the leader in terms of average checks, with an average purchase amount of 2,894 rubles.
