Spiegel readers are outraged by Zelensky’s criticism of the oil price ceiling from Russia
MOSCOW, December 4 – RIA Novosti. German newspaper readers Spiegel He criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who described the ceiling set by the West on Russian oil prices as “too comfortable” for Moscow.
Many noted the “arrogance” of the Ukrainian leader and suspected that he was trying to “bankrupt” Europe.
Another commentator said, “I am amazed at Zelensky’s ingratitude. Like it or not, we are all dependent on Russian raw materials.”
“The EU adds the oil crisis to the gas crisis. How can we continue to live?” asked another reader.
A fourth user said, “Russian oil will find buyers. The West must learn that the world does not revolve around it. Don’t fool yourself.”
The fifth commentator said, “Zelensky will only calm down when he bankrupts European countries. It’s time to put him in his place.”
The G7 countries, the EU and Australia are imposing a ceiling price of $60 per barrel on Russian offshore crude from 5 December. The ceiling price is set in line with the start of the EU embargo on the purchase of Russian crude oil transported by tankers on Monday.
Commenting on the West’s idea of limiting the prices of Russian energy resources, President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will not supply anything abroad if it goes against its own interests. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak also stated that Moscow will not supply oil to countries that set a ceiling price of $60 per barrel or any other cost. He added that such restrictions are an intervention in market instruments, and that Russia is ready to work with consumers who are ready to work in market conditions.
