A new large gas field has been discovered near the Power of Siberia in the Olekminsky district of Yakutia.
YAKUTSK, January 10 – RIA Novosti. A new large gas field has been discovered near the Power of Siberia gas pipeline and the ESPO oil pipeline in Yakutia’s Olekminsky district. informs press service of the president of the republic and his government.
“The Tuymaadaneftegaz enterprise discovered a new large gas condensate field in the Olekminsky district. Its recoverable reserves are estimated at 34.8 billion cubic meters,” the press service reported.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Geology of Yakutia, the site was discovered during drilling in the Mukhtinskiy license area. “Exploration work carried out by company experts confirmed the significant gas potential of the field. The name of the field was Mukhtinskoye,” the ministry said.
Mikhail Kirillin, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Geology of Yakutia, said that one of the main advantages of the location of the new field is the close proximity of the Siberian Force main gas pipeline and the ESPO oil pipeline. “This opens up new opportunities for the business as well as increasing the potential of the site,” he concluded.
