Governor Tsivilev: The number of self-employed in Kuzbass increased by 1.7 times in 2022
KEMEROVO, January 12 – RIA Novosti. According to the news of the regional government’s press service based on Governor Sergei Tsivilev, the number of self-employed in Kuzbass increased 1.7 times in 2022.
“The number of self-employed registered in the region increased by 70 percent in 2022. At the beginning of 2023, more than 81.3 thousand people were in the occupational income tax-paying zone, compared to 47.8 thousand a year ago,” the report says.
“The steady increase in the number of self-employed indicates that this tax regime is attractive to businesses and creates favorable conditions for working in the region. More than 81.3 thousand people currently pay professional income tax – this is one in four workers in the field of small and medium enterprises. The government team is also constantly creating new opportunities for every entrepreneur to develop their business comfortably and without unnecessary bureaucracy. We are ready to provide support at all stages of development, the Governor said in the message.
According to the Federal Tax Service, about 4% of the total number of self-employed in Kuzbass are residents under the age of 18 who started business as a minor. The most requested activities among the self-employed are tutoring, transportation services, services in the beauty industry, trade in self-made products, real estate rental and advertising services.
All taxpayers paying taxes on professional income, regardless of age and field of activity, can contact the “My Business” regional center and take advantage of the government support measures available. More than 500 people received help from the center last year.
“The self-employed can benefit from targeted support measures for branding and promoting their goods and services, developing websites. Also, the most requested service among self-employed people who applied to us for support last year is product placement in markets, as quoted by Christina Shinkaryuk, director of the My Business center in Kuzbass. We assist businesses at every stage, from registration on electronic platforms to the organization of first deliveries.
The tax regime for the self-employed began to operate in Russia on July 1, 2020. Citizens who provide paid services without the participation of employees have to deduct from the budget only 4% of their income when working with individuals, and 6% when working with companies. The annual income of those who pay professional income tax should not exceed 2.4 million rubles.
