SibNIA has begun the installation of a glider test bench for an imported version of the Superjet-100.
MOSCOW, January 12 – RIA Novosti. at the Siberian Aviation Research Institute. In the press service of the institute, RIA Novosti was told that Chaplygin has begun the installation of a test bench for the glider of the imported version of the Superjet-100 (SSJ-NEW).
“The SSJ-NEW glider was delivered to SibNIA today. Employees began to set up a test bench for certification static testing of the glider,” the institute said.
As reported by United Aircraft Corporation, the SSJ-NEW fuselage, produced at the Irkut company’s production center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, arrived in Novosibirsk on Wednesday.
Tests at SibNIA must verify the static strength of the airframe and determine safe operating conditions in accordance with the requirements of aviation regulations.
During the first phase of static testing at SibNIA, the wing, fuselage, landing gear attachment points, and pylon and attachment points of the PD-8 engine will be tested for various types of loads.
The SSJ-NEW is a promising Russian short-haul narrow-body aircraft, a new version of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 with maximum import substitution of components. In October, Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that the first flight of the SSJ-NEW is planned in the spring, certification – for December 2023, in the future – the production of 20 aircraft per year.
