Abramchenko: Due to the lack of systems for the disposal of electric vehicles, careful promotion is required

MOSCOW, January 23 – RIA Novosti. In an interview with RIA Novosti, Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko said that due to the lack of recycling systems, electric vehicles should be carefully introduced in Russia, but this technology is the future and recycling mechanisms should be created.

“Very careful, because I don’t see any recycling systems for these cars yet,” he replied to a question about his attitude towards electric vehicles.

He emphasized that the future belongs to such technologies, as there are less and less hydrocarbons on the planet. However, the vice president is confident that any innovation should have recycling technology.

“I say to all my colleagues: when a new technology, a new product, and a new product is launched, you need to immediately think about the technology to recycle what is put on the market,” Abramchenko said.

There is a general reorientation towards electric propulsion in Russia: the concept of developing electric transport was approved at the end of 2021, and there are no plans to revise it, as stated by the Ministry of Economic Development. According to the document, it is planned to produce 7.4 thousand electric vehicles in 2023. In addition, domestically produced electric vehicles were included in the preferential vehicle loan program as a state support from Evolute.
