France 3: French refuse hot showers due to rise in utilities prices
MOSCOW, January 29 – RIA Novosti. French residents forced to save on utilities due to sharp rise in gas tariffs, reports France 3.
So, according to the channel, residents of the Amouroux residential complex in Toulouse are forced to give up hot showers, as the prices for a communal apartment have tripled.
“I teach children to take cool and very short showers. My face is washed with cold water. We are getting ready for the summer when there will be cold showers,” complained Sophie Paskel, one of the residents of the estate, in an interview with reporters.
According to him, the only way to reduce the costs he has in 60 square meters is to save hot water.
“My bill has increased from 140 euros to 400 euros per month. I cannot pay with a salary of 1100 euros,” the woman admitted.
The management company added that it hopes to revise its contract with the supplier after market prices fell, but for now they plan to help those who find themselves in the most difficult situation.
The West has increased the pressure on Russia through Ukraine, which has led to higher electricity, fuel and food prices in Europe and the United States. Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously said that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy for the West, and that the sanctions deal a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main purpose of the West is to make the lives of millions of people worse.
