Austrian oil and gas company OMV wipes out its assets in Russia for 2.5 billion euros
MOSCOW, February 2 – RIA Novosti. The company’s president, Alfred Stern, said at a press conference that Austrian oil and gas company OMV has wiped out a total of 2.5 billion euros in Russia.
Stern reported in July that OMV continues to review its participation in the development of the Yuzhno-Russkoye oil and gas condensate field and does not exclude the sale of a 24.99% stake or exit from the project, but the current situation creates some difficulties for this. .
OMV is one of the largest companies in Austria. It is engaged in hydrocarbon exploration and production in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, as well as in the Asia-Pacific region. Since March last year, the company ceased to take into account the indicators of assets from Russia and considered their depreciation as another one billion euros under the Nord Stream 2 project and about one billion euros in general losses.
