European Council President Michel: EU pays the economic cost of aid to Ukraine more than the US
BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 3 – RIA Novosti. President of the Council of Europe Charles Michel I disagree that the United States generally supports Ukraine more than the European Union.
He said the EU is doing what is necessary to address energy price and supply issues, but there is much more to be done. If we also add in the acceptance of millions of Ukrainian refugees, it will appear that we are approximately at the same level (EU and USA) in providing assistance (to Ukraine),” he said.
Earlier, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that since the start of the conflict in Ukraine in February last year, the European Union has allocated a total of 50 billion euros in aid to this country.
