
CCI chief Katyrin: Business expects the opening of new markets for goods and services from the Chinese president’s visit

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow will take the trade and economic relations between the two countries to a new level, help use national currencies in mutual settlements, expand transportation corridors, and open new markets for goods and services. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) told RIA Novosti RF Sergey Katyrin.
Chinese President Xi Jinping is in Moscow on March 20-22 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, where the leaders will discuss further development of cooperation between the two countries.

“Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow will give an additional impetus to the deepening of Russia-China economic ties. We look forward to decisions that will help effectively overcome external factors that destabilize international trade, economy, investment and financial cooperation,” said the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Katyrin reminded that Russia and China are in close cooperation in almost all areas of interstate relations. “Thanks to joint efforts, high performance was achieved in the field of trade in 2022. According to official Chinese statistics, bilateral trade increased by more than 29 percent, exceeding 190 billion dollars.”
The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation emphasized that there are good dynamics in investment cooperation. “The portfolio of the intergovernmental Russian-Chinese commission includes 79 important and promising projects. The total amount of investments announced exceeds 160 billion dollars,” Katyrin said.
