Bilateral relations between Yakutia and China have been developing successfully for a long time. Since 2004, a representative office of the region has been operating in Beijing, interregional ties between the republic and some provinces of the PRC are strengthened, 19 municipalities of Yakutia have established twinning ties with 24 municipalities of China in Heilongjiang provinces. and Jilin.

Nikolaev noted that according to the results of 2022, foreign trade turnover with China increased by an estimated 80 percent compared to 2021. According to him, Yakutia and China see the creation of transport corridors as a promising area for cooperation. The issue of realizing opportunities along new transport corridors is currently being worked out with the Chinese side.
