Putin: Both acceleration and deceleration of inflation may affect citizens’ business plans and incomes
MOSCOW, April 11 – RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin said it was important to avoid accelerating and slowing inflation as it could adversely affect economic activity, business plans and citizens’ incomes in general.
Speaking at a meeting on economic issues, he said, “It is important to avoid not only an excessive acceleration of inflation, but also an excessive slowdown, as this can adversely affect economic activity in general.”
This could also affect “business plans to expand production, develop new types of products and create jobs,” Putin added. “And this, of course, affects the incomes of citizens and the volume of budget revenues,” said Putin.
