Nebenzia: The poorest countries in the food deal get less than three percent of the supply
UN, May 15 – RIA Novosti. Vasily Nebenzia, the permanent representative of Russia to the organization, said in a statement at the UN Security Council meeting that the poorest countries receive less than 3 percent of the supply under the “food deal”, 40 percent of all food exported from Ukraine by sea goes to EU countries. . .
He emphasized once again that the “product agreement” was not implemented by the Russian side.

Russia opposes indefinite extension of grain deal
The undisputed fact that a significant portion of Ukrainian food, originally intended for shipment to the countries of the Global South, is ‘settled’ within the EU is a living example of the true nature of Brussels’ high-profile humanitarian initiatives. ,” said the Permanent Representative.
According to him, in the context of the implementation of the “product agreement”, “everything did not go according to the agreed plan.” “As of May 4, 40 percent of all products exported along the humanitarian aid corridor went to EU countries. The share of the poorest countries in such purchases does not even reach 3 percent. Ukraine’s agricultural reserves have been depleted for nearly a year. It is already well fed by the West.” he stressed.
Nebenzya reminded that ammonia exports through the Togliatti-Odessa pipeline should be started in parallel with grain exports, but this did not happen.
The permanent representative stressed that for almost a year, no progress has been made in the framework of the Russia-UN Memorandum, the second part of UN Secretary-General António Guterres’s “package” agreement.

EU countries on the border with Ukraine demanded the extension of the grain import ban
“The main Russian bank Rosselkhozbank, which focuses solely on financial deals for export agricultural operations, remains under sanctions. The one-time transactions generously promised to us in Washington and Brussels are simply ridiculous when presented as an effective solution to the crisis problem,” he stressed.
According to Nebenzia, the “package” proposed by the UN Secretary-General only works to serve Ukraine’s commercial exports.
“Russia’s agricultural supply continues to be effectively hampered by Western sanctions, supposedly without any prospect of easing for non-sanctioned fertilizers and food. In fact, the United States and its satellites, with their internal mentorship, are spreading the thesis that the world needs Ukraine manger. More corn (70% of exports) than Russian wheat and fertilizers,” Nebenzya said.
