Peskov: As part of the Black Sea initiative, the issue of the passage of ammonia through Ukraine is being discussed

MOSCOW, June 1 – RIA Novosti. Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that within the framework of the Black Sea initiative, the issue of ammonia transit through Ukraine was discussed.

Asked whether the UN has an opening, Peskov said, “This is one of the issues that have not yet been implemented in terms of the Black Sea expansion. Therefore, the discussions on this issue continue.” Proposals that Kiev, Moscow and Ankara are starting preliminary studies on the passage of Russian ammonia through Ukraine as part of the Black Sea initiative and how the Kremlin is responding to them.

According to a source cited by Reuters, the UN offered Ukraine, Turkey and Russia to start preparations for the passage of Russian ammonia through Ukraine. At the same time, it was noted that the UN intends to hold parallel negotiations to expand the grain agreement to include more Ukrainian ports and other types of cargo. According to the source, Ukraine and Turkey have already accepted the UN’s proposals and Russia has yet to give a response.
