Analyst Syrovatkin predicts a weakening of the ruble in the coming months

MOSCOW, June 4 – RIA Novosti. If you still have the cash and pick the best moment to sell, you should change it later, not now, he told the agency.hit the primerOleg Syrovatkin is Lead Analyst for Otkritie Investments’ Global Research Department.

The expert expects the ruble to weaken in the coming months, mainly due to the gradual easing of regulatory restrictions on currency turnover. In addition, in the second half of the year, the inflow of foreign currency to the Moscow Stock Exchange may decrease significantly due to the expected decrease in the physical volume of Russian exports and / or the decrease in raw material prices.

“The Russian authorities consider the strengthening of the ruble excessive and want to at least limit or even weaken its growth,” the analyst said.

At the same time, Syrovatkin noted that so far the yield on one-year bank deposits in rubles is about 11-12% per year, and on foreign currency deposits (dollar and euro) – about 1.5-3.0%.

Therefore, the interlocutor of the agency believes that even if the price of the ruble falls against these currencies, it will still be profitable to stay in the ruble by no more than eight to nine percent.
