Davydov: China’s share in automobile imports reached 92 percent in eight months
VLADIVOSTOK, September 19 – RIA Novosti. Imports from China accounted for 92% of Russian car imports in 8 months, said Ruslan Davydov, deputy head of the Russian Federal Customs Service, in an interview with RIA Novosti at the Eastern Economic Forum.
According to Davydov, Russia needs to pay attention to China when it comes to trading partners; “Trade with China has increased very strongly.” At the same time, the share of the European Union in the trade turnover of the Russian Federation continues to decrease.
“Although this was predictable, because the European Union closed the market to itself. For example, for automobiles. For more than eight months, 92% of the Russian Federation’s automobile imports were imported from China. Europe closed on this issue, stopping sales.” Davydov said.
The VIII Eastern Economic Forum was held on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Vladivostok on 10-13 September 2023. RIA Novosti is the general information partner of the forum.
