Owner of Bosco di Ciliegi Kusnirovich: There are no worthy analogues on the Russian Channel
MOSCOW, November 29 – RIA Novosti. At the BRICS+ Fashion Summit, Mikhail Kusnirovich, owner of Bosco di Ciliegi, said that there are no domestic brands and designers in Russia that can replace the departed Channel.
He noted that it is necessary not only to fill a store for a short time, but to remain honorable in the market, replenishing the collection from season to season, training sellers and paying rent for the premises.
According to Kusnirovich, many people now confuse success with hype, whereas success is a life cycle and if someone “rushes” and temporarily fills someone’s shoes, it will not be considered a success.
“We (Bosco di Ciliegi – ed.) are now 33 years old and GUM’s top ranks are 133. This is the same long history for generations. We can already talk about success,” he explained.
He said that after the “most seriously expensive brand” Louis Vuitton left Russia, Dynamo Moscow came to him and asked for free facilities to create a football club house with all products, including Russian products. “Successful,” Kusnirovich summed up the story.
In his opinion, switching to full domestic production is as difficult as switching to the Russian automobile industry: “If today we have quickly and easily switched from Mercedes technology to Chinese-made cars, it is not because we do not want to drive. It is a domestic production because it is difficult: it is very difficult to create the entire localization chain for the automotive industry, but also very difficult for light industry.”
The BRICS+ Fashion Summit will take place in Moscow from 27 November to 2 December. In this program, experts from Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa and the CIS discuss the problems of the fashion industry, common market prospects and interaction options between countries.
