IVANOVO, June 20 – RIA Novosti. Regional government spokesman Untex Rodniki told RIA Novosti that Ivanovo region will increase its share of knit fabric production in Russia to 75% by launching the country’s largest knit fabric production complex.

State Governor Stanislav Voskresensky said, “In Rodniki, the largest one-off knitted fabric production complex in the history of the country was put into service. Now three-quarters of all knitted fabrics in the country will be produced in the Ivanovo region.” Ivanovo Region wrote on his page in social networks.

In 2021, more than 80% of Russia’s needs were met from imported knitted fabric. The new venture has a serious role to play in the backdrop of the departure of a number of foreign brands. According to estimates, the implementation of the Untex Rodniki project will increase the volume of Russian knitted fabric production by a third and reduce dependence on imports. To date, there are no analogues of this type of production in Russia.

Governor Stanislav Voskresensky emphasized that new employment has been created at the enterprise. “119 people have already been recruited, more than five hundred people in total are planning to take them. These are the jobs we are fighting for. I see this as the most important part of my job – people’s income, jobs, social obligations,” he said.

The company “Untex Rodniki” implements the investment project “Creating a business for the production and dyeing of raw knitted fabrics” on the site of the special economic zone “Ivanovo” in Rodniki. There are modern circular knitting, warping, winding, drying-stamp and pile machines in the factory. At this stage, it is planned to produce up to 60 tons of finished products per day.
