Government expands Yakutia ASEZ to start a waste separation project
MOSCOW, July 3 – RIA Novosti. According to the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation, the Russian government has expanded the borders of the priority development zone (TOP) “Yakutia” to launch a new investment project for waste separation.
“The borders of the priority development area (TOR) Yakutia will be expanded to include additional plots, which will create conditions for the launch of a new investment project. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on this,” the report said.
It is stated that a waste transfer station will be built in the renovated area in 2023, where they plan to separate all municipal solid waste from Yakutsk. Some of the waste will then be used in the production of alternative fuels. It is stated that the design capacity of the station is 150,000 tons of waste per year.
It was added that the implementation of the project will help develop the waste treatment industry in the republic, as well as improve the ecological situation of Yakutsk, create more than 85 new jobs and attract private investment in the region of about 935.5 million rubles.
According to the Council of Ministers, a total of 22 priority development areas have been created in the Far Eastern Federal District. The number of residents is 587, the volume of investments under the agreements is more than 4.6 trillion rubles. At the same time, more than 1.7 trillion rubles of private investment were made and more than 52.9 thousand jobs were created.
