Analyst Syrovatkin: Weakening of the ruble is possible if the price of Russian oil is limited
MOSCOW, July 22 – RIA Novosti. The next depreciation of the ruble could begin only after the West decided to limit the price of Russian oil. I told the agencyhit the primerOleg Syrovatkin, Principal Analyst for the Global Research Department “Opening Investments”.
The expert recalled that the previous weakening of the national currency was associated with an attack by the authorities on the ruble – but then the words were backed up by real actions. Now the situation is different – Russia is dependent on the world oil market.
According to him, the adoption of the G7 agreement on imposing a ceiling on the cost of “black gold” could be delayed until the fourth quarter of 2022. The expert emphasized that the longer Russia keeps its energy exports at the same level, the later the ruble will weaken.
