US presidential press secretary Jean-Pierre argues with reporter on GDP
MOSCOW, 28 July/ Radio Sputnik. Press Secretary to the President of the United States, Karine Jean-Pierre, came into conflict with a journalist and tried to produce information about the economic situation in the United States. A portion of his speech was published on the RNC Research Twitter account.
A reporter attending the White House briefing asked press secretary Joe Biden to explain the controversial remarks of Brian Deese, chairman of the National Economic Council. Toth argued in 2008 that “two quarters of negative GDP growth” was an accurate description of an economic downturn, and said on July 26, 2022 that it was not a technical definition of a recession.
