Ekaterra to cease production of Lipton, Saito and Brooke Bond teas in Russia by the end of the year
MOSCOW, 1 August – RIA Novosti. In the press service of Ekaterra company, RIA Novosti was told that by the end of the year Russia will stop producing Lipton, Saito and Brooke Bond teas, and the owner of these brands will leave the country.
“The international tea company Ekaterra has decided to cease its operations in the Russian Federation as the current situation does not allow the company to develop its business steadily. This means that the Lipton, Saito and Brooke Bond tea brands will cease to be produced in Turkey. By the end of 2022. until the Russian market, and soon Ekaterra will stop selling and distributing them.” Said.
The company emphasized that they will fulfill all their obligations to their employees in accordance with Russian labor legislation.
Ekaterra was previously owned by Unilever, but the company announced last November that it was selling its global tea business to CVC Capital Partners. The deal closed in early July.
