Financier Kravchenko spoke of the risk for the ruble in 2023 due to the restoration of imports
MOSCOW, August 26 – RIA Novosti. New factors, including a recovery in imports, will put pressure on the ruble next year. said “Prime” Yury Kravchenko, Head of Banking and Money Markets Department of IC VELES Capital.
According to the expert, the revival of imports, further relaxation of the interest rate policy of the Central Bank of Russia and the mood of global investors will contribute to the fluctuation of the national currency. Thus, Kravchenko noted that interest in the Russian foreign exchange market has dropped significantly due to continued capital constraints for non-residents.
In addition, from 2023, the main risk for the ruble – a decrease in exports and a positive balance in the trading account – will begin to materialize. Therefore, we can expect the pressure on the national currency to increase in the long run.
“All the main support factors are already playing on the ruble side, and it is not worth relying on more substantial assistance to the Russian currency,” the analyst said.
