Jurassic World Dominion may have ended the Jurassic Park saga, but director Colin Trevorrow never thought of it as a complete curtain call. The door to the others is open because…
After release Jurassic World – Domaingrossing nearly $1 billion worldwide. Jurassic Park Saga was considered closed, with this sixth chapter, the third new trilogy. How many of us believe this? Possibly as large as Universal can ignore such a profitable brand? The director of the Dominion doesn’t believe it at all, Colin Trevorrowthat in an interview with Empire Magazine does not exclude anything, on the contrary … he worked precisely to keep the doors open, apparently!
Colin Trevorrow on Jurassic Park: “The era is over, not the saga!”
Conversation with Empire Magazine, Director Colin Trevorrow illustrated an additional 14 minutes in the physical digital edition of the latter Jurassic World – Domain, with additional scenes focusing on “minor” characters such as Kayla Watts (DeWanda Wise), Ramsey Cole (Mamoudu Ati) and Soyona Santos (Dichen Lahman). Enough minutes to make them the next protagonists of one new saga? Trevorrow doesn’t know, but that doesn’t matter to him. He explains it to us:
I intentionally made something different from other films though change the DNA of the saga. Previous films were about dinosaurs. This is a story about characters in a world where they coexist with dinosaurs. The franchise should evolve, and theoretically could not, because how many “Jurassic Parks” could exist? If we want to move forward, I told myself, we need to figure out how tell stories in the world of dinosaursinstead of finding one a new reason to go to the island! […]
I didn’t know Dominance was the end of the saga until I saw the marketing launch. They are good at their job, but it would be clearer to me if they said: “End of an era”, not the end of everything. Because apart from the cynical considerations – obviously they want to make money, Jurassic World spoke about this – every day a new fan of dinosaurs is born. Boys and girls deserve these moviesthose who make movies today grew up with these stories, like Peter Pan and the Wizard of Oz, a world we cycle back into.
