The Bakhrushin Museum creates a large-scale electronic collection of valuable archival documents.

MOSCOW, October 25 – RIA Novosti. RIA Novosti was told in the press service that the Bakhrushin Theater Museum has created a large-scale digital collection of valuable archival documents.

In 2022, employees of the institution and specialists of the Elar company transferred more than 20,000 original documents from 26 funds into electronic format.

“We have digitized the rarest copies of historical documents from the late 18th century, including the personal decree of Empress Elizaveta Petrovna on the delivery of Yaroslavl merchant Fyodor Volkov and his brothers, founder of the first folk theater, to St. Petersburg. Literally page by page of our collection. Its foundation – Fund No. 1 – documents collected by the founder of the museum, Alexei Bakhrushin, his son and materials related to the history of the museum, ”says the director of the museum Kristina Trubinova.

According to him, all these resources will become available for research work, publications in various publications, participation in exhibitions. Their copies will be included in the state catalog of the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation.

The collections of the first half of the 20th century are most in demand at exhibitions and when creating Internet projects, they have been converted into electronic form. They contain rare documents of theatrical figures – playwrights Ostrovsky and Griboedov, directors Stanislavsky, Meyerhold, Vakhtangov, Gorsky and actors Mikhail Chekhov, Boris Shchukin.

The collection of congratulatory addresses, unique in composition and number of products, has found digital copies. The Bakhrushinsky Museum has the most complete collection of these works of art – more than a thousand pieces.

The press service said, “Each address is unique in its rich design, decorated with beads, enamel, embroidery, artistic oil painting, watercolor, text pattern. Signatures of famous theater figures have a special value.”
