The Prosecutor’s Office announced the ban on the Anacondaz summer concert in Yekaterinburg
EKATERINBURG, 10 November – RIA Novosti. The prosecutor’s office of the Sverdlovsk region announced that the concert of the rap-rock band Anacondaz in Yekaterinburg was canceled in order to avoid the provocative political statements of the musicians. This was reported to RIA Novosti by lawyer Alexei Bushmakov, who represents the interests of the group, citing a document from the supervisory authority.
Anacondaz sued the Yekaterinburg authorities and police, who, according to the band’s musicians Artem Khorev and Sergey Karamushkin, illegally disrupted their concert in the capital of the Urals. The defendants in the case were the Deputy Chief of Police for the Protection of Public Order Alexander Kashigin, the city police department and the public relations department of the city government.
Previously, the consideration of the claim in the Yekaterinburg Leninsky District Court was postponed several times: first, due to the participation of an interested person, the prosecutor’s office of the Sverdlovsk region was absent, then at the request of the supervisory authority. enough time to establish his position in the case.
At a meeting on Thursday, the prosecution filed an appeal to the court against the musicians’ statement of claim (open to RIA Novosti). He says that the surveillance agency received information about the planned performance of Anacondaz, whose soloists “condemned the conduct of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR.”
Anacondaz’s performance in Yekaterinburg is scheduled for July 22. The group’s page previously stated that they want to give concerts in 14 Russian cities, including Belgorod, Murmansk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk and others. But all performances planned for 2022 in Russia were postponed.
