While working on the current project, he studied the archives of Pelevin’s early works and talked to people who knew him. Among them is his childhood friend Yevgeny Petrenko, his classmate from the Gorky Literary Institute and the editor-in-chief of the Literary Review magazine Viktor Kulle, artist and musician Hermes Seigott.
