Denis Matsuev, Gaik Kazazyan and Alexander Ramm will give a concert on November 24 at the Mariinsky Theatre.
MOSCOW, November 24 – RIA Novosti. Pianist Denis Matsuev, violinist Gayk Kazazyan and cellist Alexander Ramm will perform at the Tchaikovsky Gala concert at the Mariinsky Theater Concert Hall on Thursday, the institution’s press service told RIA Novosti.
In the first part of the concert, the piano trio “In Memory of a Great Artist” in A minor, created in memory of Nikolai Rubinstein, a friend, mentor and unique interpreter of Tchaikovsky’s works, will be performed. This composition was played at the Moscow Conservatory in 1882, on the anniversary of the death of its founder.
In the second part, the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Denis Matsuev and Valery Gergiev will perform Tchaikovsky’s famous First Piano Concerto.
The conductor and Mariinsky Theater team completed the Moscow festival in Zaryadye, whose symphony program was based on Tchaikovsky’s music and opened the festival with the first concerts of Gergiev and Matsuev.
