Non-fiction intellectual literature fair opens in Gostiny Dvor
MOSCOW, December 1 – RIA Novosti. The annual nonfiction book fair opened in Moscow’s Gostiny Dvor. 307 publishing houses, bookshops and cultural institutions will take part.
The creator of the fair, Vasily Bychkov, previously told RIA Novosti, that foreign publishers will not participate this year, all attention will be turned to domestic literature. He noted that the project is heading towards the East “slowly but surely” – business guests from China and Iran are expected at the fair.
Children’s program “Knowledge Zone” will traditionally become a platform for the presentation of new broadcast projects. There will be three zones: a stage, a “Books on the Pillow” area and an area for master classes.
Current Russian comic publishers will also be introduced, a rich program will be considered for December 4 Comics Day. Among the innovations are graphic novels about Alexander Nevsky “Alexander Yaroslavich. Heroic epic”, “Mayakovsky. How to make a poem” and the book “Journey to Coke” by Varvara Ledneva from the cycle “A traveler’s diary in Russia with drawings”.
Within the framework of non/fiction, there will also be a vinyl record, CD/DVD and vintage equipment fair featuring shellac discs for gramophones released in the first half of the 20th century.
PUBLISHERS AND AUTHORS
Alpina.Children, Abrikobuks, VoiceBook, Anastasia Orlova Book House, Walk into History, Vakosha, Art Collection, Baobab publishing houses will present innovations and meet with authors.
The Eksmo-AST publishing group will hold meetings and open discussions with the authors of the holding, including Evgeny Vodolazkin, Alexandra Marinina, Reza Negarestani, Eduard Verkin, Sergey Zotov, Vera Bogdanova, Leah Steffi, Alexander Auzan, Slava Polunin, Asya Lavrinovich. Antonina Kerin, Alexander Bon, Pavel Basinsky, Shamil Idiatullin.
The program of the fair includes more than 300 events that will take place in the nine venues of Gostiny Dvor’s atrium, as well as in the exhibitor stands.
Speakers will be well-known prose writers, poets, playwrights, journalists, illustrators, translators, literary critics, scholars and scholars, teachers, cinematographers and film critics, travelers, public and cultural figures. Also this year, non/fiction will feature a thematic pavilion – conference room shop “Science, a TV studio and a blog post”.
During the five days of the fair, a book-collecting action will be held for libraries and educational institutions of Donbass.
