Matvienko: more than 2 billion rubles were allocated for the renovation of cultural institutions in 2022

MOSCOW, December 1 – RIA Novosti. The Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, said that in 2022, 2.5 billion rubles were allocated for the renovation of cultural institutions in Russia.

“The state provides comprehensive support to the cultural sector. A lot has been done this year. According to the Ministry of Culture, 2.5 billion rubles have been allocated for the renovation of cultural institutions.” said in a meeting with the heads of folk art centers, cultural houses and palaces, culture and art figures.

According to the legislator, more than 1,000 cultural centers and more than 180 children’s art schools were built and repaired. New musical instruments and equipment were provided to nearly 300 music schools. The network of mobile cultural centers is expanding, gaining popularity among residents of small or remote settlements.

Matvienko noted that all these measures provide both adults and children with the opportunity to participate in exciting clubs and master classes, interesting performances and creative evenings, participate in the cultural life of the country in renovated, technically equipped buildings.

The politician said, “National theaters are also supported by the state and the professional community. There are nearly 60 theaters in our country.”
