The plaintiff failed to gather sufficient evidence in the event that the song Oxxxymiron* “Oida” was banned.
st. Petersburg, January 9 – RIA Novosti. Petersburg Oktyabrsky District Court postponed the consideration of the case regarding the ban on the song “Oida” by rapper Oxxxymiron * (Miron Fedorov). The reason was the petition of the plaintiff.
“The preliminary hearing has been postponed. Due to the party’s need to present additional evidence, the request for the adjournment of the hearing of the administrative case has been accepted” – stated Representatives on the department’s website.
They also announced that the preliminary hearings were postponed from January 11 to February 7.
In early December, St. Petersburg’s Prosecutor of the Admiralteysky district asked the court to recognize the rapper’s composition as prohibited from distribution. He also demanded that access to the song “Oida” on the Web be restricted. The defendants in the administrative case were VKontakte LLC, Yandex LLC, Sound LLC and the musician himself.
As evidence in court, the plaintiff attached the expert opinion. According to the document, the author of the song proved the importance and necessity of rebuilding the “house” (country) and positively evaluated the consequences of the division of the territory of Russia. According to the prosecution, the song’s distribution “causes adverse social, economic and other consequences.”
In October 2022, the Department of Justice included the rapper on the personal-foreign agents registry. Also, the court recognized the musician’s composition “Last Call” as extremist. According to the Moscow prosecutor’s office, the lyrics of the piece contained “public justification for violent acts”.
Two months later, the artist was fined 45 thousand rubles for discrediting the RF Armed Forces. The reason for this was the video that the artist posted on VKontakte on the day of the start of SVO.
Earlier, the Prosecutor’s Office announced the ban on the Anacondaz concert in Yekaterinburg. The event was canceled so that the musicians would not make provocative political statements.
