The image of the legend of theater and cinema was embodied by Marietta Tsigal-Polishchuk, daughter of another famous actress Lyubov Polishchuk and granddaughter of writer Marietta Shaginyan.
“At first, it was difficult to overcome the lethargy from responsibility: the complexity of the role, the size of the personality and much more frightened me … Gradually, the lethargy went away due to a fundamental lack of time to think.” recalls Tsigal-Polishchuk, quoted by the press service of the project.
According to Marietta, the creators of the tape did not try to make a “direct biopic”.
“This is fiction based on our shared perception of what we know about this wonderful personality and actress,” explains Tsigal-Polishchuk.
Escape from native Taganrog, rejection after another in Moscow theaters, loneliness in old age – this is what the project tells.
“Dmitry Petrun’s series was made in homage to the times Ranevskaya found: from the pre-revolutionary years to the late Soviet era. The scenery, the Moscow theater locations, the costumes – every detail draws the viewer to the times when Faina Georgievna lived and worked,” – in the press service specified.
In addition to Tsigal-Polishchuk, the project includes Konstantin Lavronenko, Alexander Domogarov, Emilia Spivak, Irina Grineva, Daniil Spivakovsky and others.
Stars of Russian theater and cinema, famous musicians and athletes attended the gala. Among them are Dmitry Dyuzhev, Ekaterina Klimova, Irina Bezrukova, Nadezhda Ruchka, Zara, Ivan Kokorin, Anna Kotova-Derabina, Pavel Barshak, Zhenya Malakhova, Olga Anokhina, Alika Smekhova, Elena Valyushkina.
