Post: Detective Pikachu sequel in development


A sequel to the live-action film Pikachu was announced a long time ago, but, apparently, is still in development.

Continuation Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is in development, according to a release by Legendary Entertainment. First feature film Pokemon was released in theaters in 2019 and a few months before the release, the production house announced that it had begun development of a sequel based on a script edited by Oren Uziel. However, no further information has been received since then.

According to a representative from Legendary Entertainment, Detective Pikachu 2 AND “in developing”, confirming the intention to remove the continuation of the story, which was put on the screens several years ago. The latest update to the sequel also revealed that Uziel he no longer participates in the script, although he finished it. Apart from revealing the film’s “active” status, Legendary Entertainment did not reveal who was involved in directing the film, or if the story would revolve around the film again. Smith stated that he would also like to take part in the sequel, but does not believe that he will be called back for this role.
