The series in the format of a punk tale about the group “Korol i Shut” was released on the Web
MOSCOW, March 2 – RIA Novosti. The series “Korol i Shut” about one of the most famous Russian punk bands is on the air. The project combines drama and fantasy, and the group’s founder and lead singer Andrey “Knyaz” Knyazev is among the producers.
The series will show the events from the acquaintance of the future participants in the late 1980s to the death of Gorshka (Mikhail Gorshkov) in 2013. Consisting of eight parts, the project describes how the band was formed, how it succeeded, as well as the work of the artists, their search for their own musical style and the difficult relationships of the band members.
The peculiarity of the series is an unusual fantasy quest, in which the fairy-tale characters of the fragments “The King and the Jester” come to life. As a result, the project consists of two different stories that “switch” between each other and create a mix of reality and fantasy.

In the real world, punks from St. Petersburg gathered a full house in Yubileiny, while they gave a concert in Moscow and performed all over Russia, in the invented universe, Pot and the Prince go to free the princess from captivity. Wizard. Everything is according to the “canon”: exactly as the artists find in their songs.
Director Rustam Mosafir says, “The band has something that other bands don’t – it’s a whole world where you can create a universe with your characters. The King and the Jester” is not gloomy, it’s scary, but it’s joyful. like tales from the cellar”

Mass concert stages are being replaced by room pieces in dressing rooms, parlor pogroms and creative pursuits.
The actor of the role of Pot Konstantin Plotnikov realistically reincarnated as his hero. He studied Mikhail’s interviews and documentaries about the group, talked with Gorshka’s brother Alexei, toured the region where the musician grew up, kept the “acting diary of Mikhail Gorshenev.”

As a result, the hero really “comes to life” on the screen and, according to those who knew the musician, sometimes it seemed to them that he was talking to a real Pot.
Vlad Konoplev played Andrei Knyazev. Yevgeny Tkachuk is reborn as Jester, the musicians’ guide between reality and fantasy. The roles of other participants were performed by Daniil Vakhrushev (bass guitarist Balu), Ilya Lovkiy (drummer Poruchik), Danila Rassomahin (guitarist Yasha), Jan Ilves (vocals and guitarist Renegat) and Vassa Bokova (violinist Masha).

The artists reviewed the band’s concert recordings and personal archives on YouTube, practiced musical numbers in the rehearsal facilities, communicated with event attendees and their prototypes.
The series aired on Kinopoisk.
