The 95th awards ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

Jimmy Kimmel will host the ceremony for the third time in his career. The organizers of the award returned to the practice of a presenter after several ceremonies without a host and an unsuccessful attempt to secure a stage for three hosts at once last year.

When the famous comedian started joking around before the ceremony, the organizers, who decided to hold the ceremony without a red carpet for the first time since 1961, gave him a reason. The carpet that stars love to pose for the cameras will remain, but this year it will be champagne, light beige, not the usual red.

Referring to the scandal that broke out last year when actor Will Smith punched colleague Chris Rock in the face for playing a bad joke at the Oscars, Kimmel said: “This shows we don’t expect bloodshed.”

For the second year in a row, Volodymyr Zelensky was denied a performance at the Oscars. The organizers did not explain in detail the reasons for the refusal.

Argentine director Santiago Miter’s German film All Quiet on the Western Front, Argentina 1985, Belgian Close, Polish director Eeyore and Irish film Silent Man were selected in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Russia is represented in the competition in the nomination “Best Short Documentary Film” with the works of Yakut directors Maxim and Evgenia Arbugaev’s “Exit”.
