A couple of months and here it is. May 25, 2023: this is the release date in Italy set for renfieldmovie in which the favorite Nicolas Cage plays one of the most legendary characters in the history of cinema, Count Dracula, and in which the young Nicholas Hoult instead, it’s your historical, jaded assistant who gives the film its title.
This time it’s Chris McKay which, starting from an original idea by Robert Kirkman and a script by Ryan Ridley, reimagines for the hundredth time the story written by Bram Stokerbringing its protagonists to the present, taking the point of view of R. M. Renfield, and talking about a Dracula who is imagined to be the direct heir of the one Bela Lugosi first interpreted in 1931, but also embellished with Warholian nuances (in Andy’s sense).
