Post: Junji Ito’s Bloodsucking Darkness To Be Live-Action Horror

“Fangoria” will release a film adaptation of “Bloodsucking Darkness” from Junji Ito’s horror manga based on the 2018 short story collection.

Junji Ito,to whom Lucca Comics & Games dedicated an exhibition a few years ago, is one of the most prominent manga artists in the horror genre, whose stories, starting from Tomy To Uzumaki – Spiral, right down to his short story collections, are truly haunting and compelling, and enhanced by a very suggestive graphic streak. In his homeland, films and video games have been made based on his works, and now thanks to Fangoria. Bloodsucking darkness there will be screening.

Bloodsucking Darkness: From Manga to Movie

Adapt stories about Junji Ito in the cinema the author was chosen Hill House, Jeff Howard. This is the first of three projects that Fangoria Studios plans to create based on the vampire stories included in the 2018 Junji Ito Storybook, published in Italy in 3 volumes. Ito, who will be producing the film, said, “Fangoria Studios is adapting my manga! I can’t wait to see what comes out of this. I hope to see the trailer in my dreams tonight.” Jeff Howardwho will be the executive producer of the film, and who has always written for Mike Flanagan movie Oculus and series midnight mass, released the following statement: “When I found out that a live-action adaptation of Junji Ito was going to be made, I did my best to get the job because I couldn’t let anyone else do it. The combination of fear and feeling is something I’ve always been interested in.” Founded in 2021 to produce horror films and TV series, Fangoria Studios is an offshoot of the well-known Anthony Timpone dedicated to scary movies, dear to all fans of the genre. We hope that with the passion and knowledge they put into the game, we can do justice to the stories Junji Ito.
