A fire broke out in the Cosmos Museum, dedicated to Valentina Tereshkova, in the Yaroslavl region.
YAROSLAVL, June 22 – RIA Novosti. The fire occurred in the Museum of the Cosmos, in a wooden cottage – a replica of the house where the first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova once lived, reported On the website of the Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve.
The press service said, “The fire has now been extinguished. The monuments were not damaged.”

The cause of the fire is being determined.
Museum “Cosmos” – a branch of the Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve. It is located in the village of Nikulskoye in the Yaroslavl region. Part of the exhibit is a village cottage modeled on the home of Valentina Tereshkova’s grandmother, Matrena Titovna, where the whole family lived during the war years. The original building still stands in the neighboring village of Bolshoye Maslennikovo.
