Game of Thrones star Lena Headey sues for cuts from her new ‘Thor’ movie

MOSCOW, 1 July – RIA Novosti. Lina Headey was sued by the Troika agency she worked with before. The company wants to collect one and a half million dollars in unpaid commissions, including for the shooting of the actress in the movie Thor: Love and Thunder, in which scenes with her participation were cut. The firm claims Headey owes him at least $500,000 for his work on the new Marvel movie.

Headey joined the Troika in 2005, following his personal representative, Michael Duff. He was one of the founders of the agency. It merged with the James Grant Group in 2017. It was acquired by a private investment company in 2018. Renamed to YMU. Duff left the firm at the beginning of 2020, Headey left in May of that year. But Troika insists that according to the agreements, the actress still owes commissions for a number of projects.

Headey states that he has not signed with Troika or Duff. Both parties acted on a verbal agreement made when Duff was working for Lou Carl Associates in the late 1990s. Headey noted that Troika was never their only agency. The actress also stressed that the company cannot claim a commission for her role in Thor: Love and Thunder, as director Taika Waititi personally invited her to star in the film.

The actress is known worldwide for her role as Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones. For him, Headey received five Emmy nominations and one Golden Globe nomination.
